Capital Interfaith Hospitality Network (CIHN) is an interfaith 50l(c) 3, non-profit organization established in the District of Columbia. Donations are tax-deductible. In 2005, CIHN raised over $77,623 from various fundraising sources, including member congregations, major donors and theatrical events; just $1,500 was received from government sources. Our costs include a part-time Network Director, two overnight staff members, the provision of case management services by Capitol Hill Group Ministry, and various administrative and insurance expenses. Both in-kind and financial donations are most welcome and appreciated. Donations in any amount are greatly appreciated. FINANCIAL DONATIONS. Just $100 means CIHN can keep a shelter supplied with paper products and lunch items. Or, it could mean diapers and a stroller for a baby new to the shelter. A $500 gift means gift cards for parents who need new clothes for job interviews or school clothes and a backpack for a homeless child. A $1,000 contribution allows CIHN to open a new shelter! We could purchase cots, bedding, towels and other essentials to expand our services to the growing number of homeless families in Washington, D.C., and provide a month of job placement and child care referral services. We can generally use adult and children’s clothing in good condition, toiletries, paper products, bedding, towels and furniture; however, we have limited storage capacity.
